15 days while sailing the Mediterranean, from Miami to Civitavecchia, a lot of entertainment going on onboard for me as a tourist.

Cruise experience:
I love those sea days. There are activities from early morning to late at night. There are cozy places to settle down with a good book. There are game rooms, spas and exercises rooms. The bigger ships like ours have amenities like wall climbing, miniature golf, and ice skating. You can take dance classes and show off your tap dancing in a passenger centered talent night. Professional photographers for every theme night. Cruising is like staying at a luxury
hotel that moves! Just unpack once, you are taken to so many different places via excursions. On the top of this, it gives you first class West End type entertainment, plus talks on the port of call, so you have lots of information before you disembark at the ports.
Way to Rome (Fiumicino airport) from Civitavecchia:
There are several options for getting from Civitavecchia port to Fiumicino airport.
Rome Fiumicino Airport is located 65 km from the port of Civitavecchia. This is almost in the center of Rome city. It has the best cab services that help you to explore the whole of Rome. You can either get a private bus or a train to reach the Fiumicino Airport.

By Train:
Civitavecchia railway station is about a mile away from the cruise port. Civitavecchia to the Rome train service is frequent, but punctuality is not a strong point and delays are frequent. At the interchange station where you change trains, you may well have to carry your luggage up and down several of stairs.
Most trains are commuter style with no seat reservation and no luggage portage. So, if you are old/frail or travelling with heavy luggage of more than 20 kg then train may not be the good option for you to reach the airport.
- By a Private car/taxi:
Private cars are licensed to enter the port and collect and drop you off at the destination. Your taxi journey from Civitavecchia will be calculated using taximeter, therefore the price may vary depending on where you are going to the city. You just need to look out for licensing information on the door to make sure that you are taking an official taxi. In this way, taking taxi is always a convenient and fastest option, which is what I did. It took almost an hour to reach the airport.

Venetian Ghetto:
Venetian Ghetto is a Jewish part of Venice dating back to the year 1516, which makes it the first Jewish Ghetto in Europe. Visit the impressive square full of history, including Banco Rosso believed to be the first pawn shop in the world and where supposedly the term “to be in the red numbers” derives from.

Grand Canal:
Grand Canal or Canal Grande is a 2.4 miles long water avenue or in other words, the main water road in Venice, featuring numerous palaces, luxury hotels, and four bridges, including the famous Rialto Bridge which actually feels more like a street because of all the shops located on the bridge.

Museums and art Galleries:
Venice is home to amazing museums and art galleries. Located next to Arsenal, you can find the Naval History Museum and ships pavilion and see some of the ships that were built here during the Venetian golden era. Famous galleries include Punta Della Dogana, Peggy Guggenheim collection or Giudecca 795 Art Gallery.
How to travel from Venice to Verona?
Since there are no direct flights, the fastest way to travel from Venice to Verona is by taking a high-speed train. Trenitalia train is usually an hour faster than taking the bus; however, high speed trains usually cost approximately €20. The distance from Venice to Verona is approximately 64 miles (103 km).

It is originally a Roman forum, the PIAZZA DELLE ERBE is a rectangular piazza in the heart of the historic center of Verona that is surrounded by medieval buildings and towers. In the middle is an attractive 14th century fountain with a roman statue, and various important buildings line the square.

Visitors can meet over 5000 sea creatures in this huge, interactive aquarium. Explore 13 themed areas and 40 tanks, learning about sea life.
Rushing towards Milan from Verona:
There are plenty of direct trains from Verona to Milan and most of them are high-speed trains, so you have no trouble finding one to suit your travel schedule.
